According to South Korean news agency, Yonhap, police discovered the 48-year-old actor unconscious in a car at a park in Seoul.
His wife had reported that he had left home earlier that day.

His investigation, during which he was questioned by the police multiple times on suspicions of using marijuana and other illegal substances, was part of the South Korean government's crackdown on illegal drugs.

Born in 1975, Lee starred in various South Korean films and played the lead in Apple TV+'s Dr. Brain series in 2021, portraying a neurologist investigating a family tragedy through brain experiments. He was also known for his roles in popular K-dramas like Coffee Prince, Pasta, and My Mister.
He found international fame after starring in the Oscar-winning film, Parasite.
