Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has declared Monday, 28 November, a nationwide public holiday

In his first press conference as prime minister this evening, 24 November, Anwar finally announced the news that many Malaysians have been waiting for.

"The ringgit has strengthened, the stock prices have gone up. So, tomorrow won't be a public holiday. Instead, it will be Monday," he said.

Anwar also announced that the new unity government comprises of Pakatan Harapan (PH), Barisan Nasional (BN), and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)

In the same press conference, he said the parliament will convene on 19 December and the first motion tabled will be a vote of confidence for his leadership.

He also reasserted his promise that he will not take a salary as Prime Minister.
