Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in Johor in connection with sexual misconduct allegations involving a primary school teacher and a 12-year-old student
According to the New Straits Times, acting Johor police chief DCP Hoo Chuan Huat said police became aware of the case after a viral Facebook post surfaced yesterday, 21 May, by education influencer and former teacher, Mohd Fadli Salleh.
Following the post, police also received a formal report at about 9pm the same day from the alleged victim's 37-year-old mother, who claimed the incident had occurred last year in the Seri Alam area.
Acting on the report and information received, Hoo said officers from the Seri Alam district police headquarters' Criminal Investigation Department arrested the suspect at around 10.30pm last night.
Police said preliminary urine screening on the suspect tested negative for drugs, and checks also confirmed that he has no prior criminal record.

In a statement today, 22 May, the Johor Education Department has also assured that it would not compromise on any form of sexual misconduct at any schools under its jurisdiction.
The department said it has urged police to conduct a thorough and professional investigation, and added that it is working with the Social Welfare Department to ensure the wellbeing of the student involved.
