The man, Sion Khong Poh, says not guilty

A man allegedly caught on camera hitting his ex-girlfriend with a hammer, leaving her needing 30 stitches on her head, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing grievous hurt.

Sion Khong Poh (pic), a chicken wing stall operator, claimed trial to the charge after it was read to him by a court interpreter before magistrate Mohamad Izwan Mohamed Noh.

He was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a weapon and faces a jail term of up to three years, fine and whipping if convicted.

Victim Lim Pui Lee used to pay her abuser RM4,000 a month just to help her run her stall

Lim, who has been running a stall selling chicken wings at a food court, said she used to pay the 33-year-old suspect RM4,000 a month just to help her run her stall.

The victim, a food trader, received 30 stitches to her head after the abuse

The incident allegedly took place at 10am on Saturday when the woman confronted the man at his house in Taman Jasper Jaya and accused him of breaking her car window.

The woman identified as Lim Pui Lee suffered 30 stitches to her head and was warded for two days at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban on Saturday.

When met at her home in Taman Layang Layang here today, Lim, a food trader in Jalan Lobak, said they were both divorcees and had been in a relationship for over 13 years.
