SUNGAI PETANI: Three Indonesians, believe to be members of an armed-robbery gang were gunned down after they opened fire on a police team in an oil palm estate in Kuala Ketil here early today.

The Incident Started At 4.30am When Police Tried To Stop The Three Suspicious Men Who Were Travelling In Two Cars
Kedah Police chief Datuk Ahmad Ibrahim said the shooting took place at 4.30 am after a police officer and seven personnel engaged in the ‘Op Cantas Khas’ operation ordered a car with three men they were following to stop.

In the 4.30am incident, the suspects in their late 20s were spotted travelling in a Proton Perdana by an Ops Cantas Khas team at a T-junction in Batu 9, Bukit Selambau here.
The team, which was travelling in two cars tried to flag down the car upon sensing something amiss.
