PETALING JAYA: A robber was shot dead near the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) in the Shah Alam area after breaking into a pilot's house some 500m away.

The dead and his three accomplices were hiding in a ditch some 500-metres away from the bungalow at KM7.8 NKVE (Kuala Lumpur bound) when they were spotted by two policemen in a patrol car who responded to the victim's call at 4am this morning.

It is learnt that three accomplices managed to escape to a nearby oil palm estate while a police patrolman was injured in a scuffle with the robber who was shot.
