Putrajaya Launches New Driverless Bus Service For Just RM1 Per Trip

If you spot a bus travelling around Putrajaya without a conventional driver behind the wheel, don't be alarmed.

Putrajaya's Nadiputra public bus service has welcomed a new autonomous bus to ferry passengers around the administrative capital.

According to Perbadanan Putrajaya, the autonomous electric shuttle bus officially began operating on Route P113, connecting MRT Putrajaya Sentral and Dataran Gemilang, starting today, 7 October.

"Enjoy a new public transport experience that combines electric and autonomous technology as you travel around Putrajaya," it said.

The service is operated in collaboration with eMoovit, a Malaysian tech company specialising in autonomous driving technology

The autonomous vehicle uses LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensors, radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors to detect and navigate its surroundings.

According to eMoovit's website, the company also operates an autonomous electric bus service in Cyberjaya.

The new P113 bus route operates from Monday to Friday

The P113 route has six stops:
– MRT Putrajaya Sentral
– Kementerian Kewangan
– Istana Kehakiman
– Kementerian Belia & Sukan
– Dataran Gemilang
– Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya

The bus then returns to MRT Putrajaya Sentral.

You can catch the bus at the following departure times:
Morning: 7.15am, 8.15am, 9.15am, and 10.15am
Afternoon: 2.45pm, 3.45pm, 4.45pm, and 5.45pm

The fare is RM1 per trip.

The bus accepts cashless payment via Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards only.
