On Sunday, 12 February, a robbery suspect led cops on a 30km car chase
According to Free Malaysia Today, the suspect was evading detectives who were on his tail in an unmarked police vehicle, which was a Perodua Myvi.
Amidst the high-speed chase, the robber had driven recklessly over a bump near the Kampung Pendamar Mosque, which caused his Proton Inspira to flip sideways.
Relentless, the suspect then took off on foot, abandoning his car in the middle of the road. The detectives then left their car in pursuit of him.
Thinking fast, the robber then doubled back and jumped into the detectives' Myvi that was left wide open and fled the scene in it
Based on the videos in a Facebook post by info.semasa, the man is seen running into the Myvi, and getting shot at by the armed detectives.
A witness then called the South Klang police station to report what he saw. The incident was recorded by witnesses and the videos were shared on social media.
A South Klang police team was dispatched to the scene, where they met the detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and learned about the entire situation.
The suspect was finally cornered by the police in Port Klang on the same day
The apprehended 31-year-old suspect was in possession of several drugs, and had a criminal record, said the South Klang police chief Cha Hoong Fong, reported New Straits Times.
