Rosmah's Daughter Says Her Mother's Arrest Is "Going Too Far" In Emotional Post
The former first lady was arrested by MACC yesterday, 3 October.
Nooryana Najwa, the daughter of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, penned an emotional Instagram post following her mother's arrest yesterday, 3 October
Three hours after Rosmah's arrest by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Nooryana posted an old photograph of her mother carrying her as a toddler on her Instagram.
While she can accept the authorities taking action on her father as he was "a man who was in power," Nooryana said that involving the women in his life is "going too far"
"Two weeks ago you raided his mother's house and today you remand his wife and plan on charging her the same day her husband is due in court," she wrote.
"I suppose tomorrow makes for a great picture and media circus."
Nooryana recounted receiving "the dreaded call" informing her of Rosmah's arrest at 4am and the intense emotions that immediately followed
Instead of crying or screaming in anger, the 30-year-old mother of one explained that she decided to pray that her mother remain calm instead of worrying about her loved ones while in custody.
"Mummy, even if you can't hear me, please know that I am fine. I will get out of bed and go to class and Adam will be patiently waiting for you on FaceTime," she wrote.
Despite her frustrations about her family's circumstances, Najib and Rosmah's daughter ended her caption on a hopeful note
"I will always stand by the woman who gave birth to me, wiped my tears away when I was down, slept with me when I was sick, and taught me how to stand on my own two feet," she wrote.
"In your words this morning mummy, Inshaallah, we will persevere," she added.
