Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has filed a defamation lawsuit against local comedian Harith Iskander
The suit follows a viral video of Harith's stand-up performance uploaded by TikTok user @mayychan0303, in which Rosmah was allegedly compared to local mythical figures.
In her lawsuit, Rosmah claimed the comedy routine subjected her to public ridicule and malicious body shaming.
The alleged incident occurred during Harith Iskander: The Outspoken Comedy Tour in Melaka on 17 January this year
According to the statement of claim, the comedian had displayed images of a toyol, pontianak, and pocong before showing a photograph of Rosmah.
"She claimed Harith joked about the 'scariest' figure in Malaysian mythology before displaying her image," the statement of claim said, according to the New Straits Times.
The TikTok clip of the segment later gained over 219,700 views.
In his statement of defence filed on 9 July 2026, Harith denied the allegations and argued that the lawsuit relied on incomplete clips
He maintained that the performance should be viewed in its full 90-minute context, which included specific disclaimers and house rules.
The comedian said he had no knowledge of the TikTok account that uploaded the video, adding that audience members were strictly prohibited from recording the performance.
He also argued that his references to mythical creatures were fictional and protected under Article 10(1)(a) of the Federal Constitution.
Rosmah is seeking general damages, a public apology, and the removal of the disputed content from all platforms.
