In a bid to attract potential bus drivers, a Singaporean transport company posted a job advertisement in December 2023 featuring an enticing starting monthly salary of SGD5,000 (RM17,656.47)

Besides the attractive salary, Westpoint Transit Pte Ltd also offers a SGD10,000 (RM35,312.94) sign-on bonus.

According to Mothership, the alluring compensation package is part of the company's recruitment strategy to attract a younger demographic to join its firm, with a targeted plan to onboard at least 30 new drivers by the end of 2024.

Notably, there are no nationality restrictions for applicants eyeing the bus captain role, as indicated in the company's recruitment ads on LinkedIn and myCareersFuture pages.

However, potential candidates must possess at least one year of relevant experience, a valid Class 4 driving license, and a vocational license.

To complete the deal, drivers can also enjoy additional perks such as group insurance and a selection of "tidbits and beverage choices".
