Sime Darby Property Closes HQ After Staff Tests Positive For COVID-19

Sime Darby Property has temporarily closed its headquarters in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, after one of its staff tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, 6 October

According to a statement, the employee is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital.

Free Malaysia Today reported that the staff had last been in the office on Friday, 2 October.

Sime Darby Property said detailed contact tracing and deep cleaning and disinfection of the building will be carried out to reduce the risk of infection

"Employees who have been in close contact will be notified immediately and are required to immediately self-quarantine for 14 days and seek medical assistance if they display any symptoms," read the statement.

"The health and safety of our employees and stakeholders are paramount, and we will continue to monitor the situation vigilantly," it said, while assuring that expenses pertaining to the COVID-19 screening test will be borne by the company.

Meanwhile, the company said its other sales galleries and office premises are not affected by this exercise and will continue to operate as usual

Business operations at the headquarters will be carried out as normal but with employees working from home until further notice.
