Singapore has officially expanded its regulatory enforcement, introducing fines for commuters playing loud audio on public buses, according to the BBC
Under the new regulations announced by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), bus passengers who play loud audio, place their feet on seats, litter, or consume food and drinks on board can face fines of up to SGD500 (RM1,600).
For more severe infractions, such as causing an obstruction, soiling public property, or endangering fellow commuters at bus interchanges, the penalty can scale up to SGD5,000 (RM16,000).

The LTA said that the framework aims to foster a safer, more considerate, and pleasant commuting environment, reminding the public that transport networks remain shared spaces requiring mutual courtesy.
Authorised employees of public bus operators can issue notifications of offences, but bus captains are excluded from issuing fines directly so they can focus on driving safely.
