SMS Claiming BN Will Be Giving Out RM500 Via Touch 'n Go eWallet Is A Scam
Another day, another Touch 'n Go eWallet scam.

In August, a MySejahtera RM800 aid phishing scam was circulating the country via SMS and citizens were alerted by the Cyber Crime Alert of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
Now, a new scam has surfaced.
PDRM is now warning Malaysians of a new scam that is taking advantage of the 15th General Election (GE15) period.
The modus operandi of the scam involves sending out links via SMS and claiming the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition is distributing financial aid to supporters via Touch 'n Go eWallet.
The notification would ask victims to verify their identities using a link if they want to claim the "RM500 aid".
The link, however, would instead lead to a phishing website instead of the official Touch 'n Go platform.
According to Bernama, Sentul district police chief ACP Beh Eng Lai has made it clear that Touch 'n Go would not send any messages or notices to users
One way to identify a fake Touch 'n Go link sent by fraudsters, is by looking out for 'emy.top' in the link.
"The correct link should not have the 'emy.top'. If there is an 'emy.top' this is definitely an online scam run by a syndicate," he said when contacted by Bernama on 27 October.
One netizen recently shared a picture of the alleged SMS scam along with a warning from someone who claimed that their in-law fell victim to the scheme
The screenshot, which was posted on Twitter, alleges that the victim lost RM1,950 after visiting the phishing website. When a police report was lodged, the victim was told that this was a new scam tactic that was taking advantage of the election season.
