A Form Two teacher recently shared his disappointment on social media after more than half of his students received a score of zero on a history exam

The teacher, who goes by @TheTehOriginal on X, posted a photo of his students' graded examination papers to shed light on the challenges educators are currently facing in schools.

He said that the results of the Ujian Akhir Sesi Akademik (UASA) history exam reflect the performance of the weakest class within the Form Two batch at his school, comprising 32 students.

He added that 90% of those who received a low score had turned in blank answer sheets, failing to provide any responses for the paper, which included structured and essay questions.

"My goal in sharing this is to encourage netizens to reject the notion that teachers are not attempting to assist students experiencing academic difficulties," said the educator.

He also shared that the school's teachers are currently seeking effective methods to help the students improve their performance in exams.

"For Form 2 students, we try to guide them by giving more exercises, holding motivational programmes, and monitoring their performances closely.

"Given that these marks contribute to UASA, future strategies and methods are set to be implemented to enhance academic performance," he said.

Despite the shocking results, the educator went on to say that there are students who are still eager to learn and have a positive attitude towards education.

"Some students still tried answering the questions even though they got the answers wrong. For these cases, we can help them improve," he added.
