Teachers and parents have been urged to pay closer attention to the water bottles students bring to school after a tumbler with hidden storage compartments surfaced online
In a post on Threads, user @rohayaazlan shared a video showing a tumbler that appears completely ordinary from the outside but contains multiple concealed storage spaces.
"Teachers, you may want to start checking the tumblers students bring to school. Who knows, some may be hiding prohibited items inside tumblers like this. Be careful," she wrote.

In the video, a man believed to be a teacher who confiscated the bottle from a student, demonstrates how it works
At first glance, it functions like a normal tumbler, with the top section used to store drinking water.
However, he then twists open the middle and bottom sections of the bottle, revealing two hidden compartments.
The bottom compartment is large enough to fit a smartphone, while the middle section can be used to conceal a vape.
"If you shake the bottle, you can hear water inside it," he said, highlighting how inconspicuous the design is.
He added that the emergence of such bottles is worrying, suggesting that students may be using them to sneak prohibited items into schools.
The video sparked discussion among netizens, with many expressing concern over how students come up with increasingly creative ways to circumvent school rules
"That bottle is actually great for hikers because it's compact, secure, and waterproof. Unfortunately, it's being misused," one user said.
Others sympathised with teachers, with one commenter writing, "Ya Allah, educating children these days is becoming more and more challenging."
Some also worried that incidents like this could lead schools to only allow transparent water bottles, while others recalled stricter measures taken against students caught bringing phones to school in the past.
"It's troubling because some bottles are useful for keeping drinks cold. But because of cases like this, schools may end up only allowing transparent bottles. This is why people can't have nice things," one user commented.
"When I was in boarding school, any phone that got confiscated would be cut up by the teacher using a bolt cutter. After that, everyone was too scared to bring one," recalled a commenter.
