It was learned that the incident happened at about 4am near a fast food restaurant in Taman Melati on Sunday, 20 May.

Bernama reported Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim as saying in a statement yesterday, 22 May, that preliminary investigations have showed that a fight started at the parking area of a petrol station in Taman Melati, which is located near the fast food restaurant.

The fight then extended to the side of the road of the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) towards Gombak.

Mazlan said the police rushed to the scene after receiving a complaint on the incident at about 4.31am. When they arrived at the scene, they found the deceased lying on the ground near the fast food outlet.

Checks on the incident revealed that two groups of youths got into a fight following a previous misunderstanding between them at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa last week

Sinar Harian reported Mazlan as saying that the victim and his motorcycle gang got into a fight previously after they were approached by another group that was ramping their motorcycle throttle, making loud noises.

No police report has been made regarding the previous incident.

According to Mazlan, the two gangs agreed to meet again at the petrol station and a fight broke out as both sides used helmets and motorcycle chain-locks in the fight.

The police have since detained 17 youths to facilitate investigations into the murder case
