A toddler in Terengganu ran into the street and was killed by a moving car
The father, 61-year-old Assalami, explained that he was taking his temperature and about to enter a restaurant when his son suddenly let go of his hand
"I was writing my name, holding my son in one hand when he tugged it and ran into the street. I chased him but I didn't make it," he said to Astro Awani.
"The car was moving really fast and hit my child. He was thrown in the air. I lifted his body and realised he was gone."
The impact of the crash was so strong that the three-year-old flew forward as far as 20m, as reported by Harian Metro.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987
Dungun district police chief Supt Baharudin Abdullah told Harian Metro that during the incident, the car was driven by a 25-year-old woman who failed to avoid the child before crashing into him.
"The body has been taken to Dungun Hospital for further action before being handed over to his family," he added.
