Just a few days after two orcas showed up off the east coast in Terengganu, a pair of tigers were spotted strolling along a road at a village in Hulu Dungun yesterday, 18 July

The tigers, believed to have been a male and a female, were spotted by villagers at Kampung Besul, Bukit Besi.

It was not long before photos and videos of the roaming tigers went viral on social media

According to The Borneo Post, Terengganu Department of Wildlife and National Park (Perhilitan) director Dr Abdul Malek Mohd Yusof confirmed that the videos were real.

Twenty Perhilitan staff were deployed to the village yesterday afternoon to find and catch the tigers.

Based on the tigers' tame behaviour, the director revealed that they may have been set free by their owner to wander around the jungle and got lost by accident.

"Besides, we also believe that the tame behaviour displayed by the tigers is probably due to an illness as they appeared less energetic," he said, according to Bernama.

"However, we cannot confirm this as the tigers are still at large," he told reporters last night.
