The top scorer received the 'Paper FA1 Winner' award from ACCA on 20 April.
A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Perak student has achieved outstanding results in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations this year
According to a Facebook post by the university, Foundation in Accountancy student Julea Qiestyna Abu Zar obtained the second highest score in the world, and thus, the highest score in Malaysia, for the Recording Financial Transaction (FA1) subject paper in the March 2023 exams.
Besides being congratulated by her university and faculty on social media, she also won an award from the ACCA themselves for the excellent result
According to New Straits Times, the top scorer received the 'Paper FA1 Winner' award on 20 April.
"The whole faculty is proud of this achievement and hopes that more prize-winning students will be born in the future," read UiTM's accounting faculty's congratulatory post.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has also congratulated the student for the success
Besides Julea, he also sent his regards to another Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) sponsored student, Danish Zafran Bazam from UiTM Shah Alam, who placed third in the world in the Performance Management subject exam paper.
The top score also means Danish is the highest scorer for the subject in Malaysia.
"Congratulations to the two MARA-sponsored students for being crowned ACCA World Prize Winners," wished Zahid.
"May their success be an inspiration to all other MARA-sponsored students. All the best," he posted on Facebook.
