He was detained after police examined CCTV footage of the incident.
The customer involved in the brawl at a McDonald's drive-thru in Rawang has been arrested, according to Gombak district police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe
An in-depth investigation was conducted based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the premise and police found that the fight started with the customer, who is also an e-hailing driver, first attacking the employees of the fast food joint.
"The driver has been arrested for investigation and he was found to have a mental disability. The investigation is ongoing," said the police chief when contacted by The Star on Thursday, 1 October.
It was previously reported that the fight ensued after a disagreement between the customer and a restaurant employee over the method of payment
Police initially investigated the incident under 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt after receiving police reports from both sides claiming that they were assaulted.
"The police have reclassified the case under Section 447 and 427 of the Penal code for destruction of property, as well as Section 160 of the Penal Code for committing affray," said Arifai.
