Three men carrying a fake gun, a clown mask, and drugs were arrested by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers in Kuching, Sarawak

According to Free Malaysia Today, police officers first spotted the trio's vehicle on Jalan Central Timur at 1.10pm on Thursday, 2 April

As the police approached the suspects, they sped away and led the officers to a high-speed chase up until Jalan Depo.

"The suspects sped away to avoid arrest along Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub and almost hit a back-up police vehicle," said Kuching district police chief ASP Awang Din Awang Gani.

"Police later managed to block the suspect's vehicle along Jalan Depo, following which the three attempted to flee on foot with one of them tossing a bag on the ground."

Photos and videos of the foot chase captured by passers-by quickly went viral on social media

A 30-second-long video on Facebook shows one suspect exiting the vehicle and jumping into a drain before he was pinned down by a policeman.

Meanwhile, photos show that the police found a mask depicting the face of Pennywise the Dancing Clown inside the vehicle and a fake gun in the glove compartment.

The Kuching district police chief confirmed the arrest, revealing that the suspects' ages range between 25 and 33 years old

Awang said the trio has prior convictions for drugs and theft.

The police also found four bags of crystal meth with them during the arrest, reported The Borneo Post.

The case is currently being investigated under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the local Infected Areas) Regulations 2020 and the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
