Police are looking for a lorry driver who was caught on video assaulting an e-hailing driver near a traffic light on Jalan Batu Caves

The incident happened on the evening of Friday, 14 May, after the 38-year-old victim is said to have failed to give way to the lorry driver

According to Gombak district police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe, the e-hailing driver, who was carrying a passenger at the time, said that the lorry driver was trying to get ahead of him but he failed to see.

The lorry driver then started tailing the e-hailing driver before catching up to him at the traffic light on Jalan Batu Caves. Following which, the driver got off the lorry and started rage-kicking the victim's car.

Shocked at the man's actions, the e-hailing driver got out of his car to confront the lorry driver, who continued his road rage by punching and kicking the victim in the face, body, and back.

The victim, who suffered a bloody nose and bruises to his eyes and on the arms, had to be transported to a hospital for further treatment

The case is currently being investigated, Arifai said

"In this case, the police are tracking down an important witness, a passenger, who was in the victim's car to assist the police investigation," he was quoted as saying yesterday, 15 May.
