Over the weekend, a motorcyclist heading towards the NKVE Expressway was captured on video casually taking a hammer out of his jacket and hurling it at a car travelling in the middle lane

The incident took place at KM5.7, West Bound on DUKE Highway.
In the incident, which occurred at 12.38pm on Sunday, 18 August, the motorcyclist first overtakes the car from the fast lane on the right
He then takes out the hammer, swings it, and throws it at the car in the middle lane.
Fortunately for the driver, the motorcyclist's aim was off, and the hammer failed to reach the car.
Sensing his failure, the motorcyclist sped off from the would-be scene of the crime.
While the car driver was fortunate to escape unscathed, the video has sparked speculation online that it was likely a towing scam
According to one user on X, formerly Twitter, it seemed like a deliberate scheme to force the driver into using towing services.
"It's all part of their plan. If they cause an accident, they can profit from the towing fees. I had a friend who worked as a tow truck operator, and he told me there are groups involved in these sorts of schemes," the user claimed.
Meanwhile, others argued that the driver may have done something to anger the motorcyclist. However, these netizens have seemingly overlooked the fact that he was casually carrying a hammer inside his jacket.
It's not clear if the driver lodged a police report.
