One person was killed and 13 others were injured in the fatal crash.
On Saturday, 7 April, at about 3.30pm, a tour bus on the Karak-Kuala Lumpur Expressway rammed into the back of a gravel lorry
According to a report in the Straits Times, the accident involved 11 Singaporeans and three Malaysians, including the driver and the bus conductor.
While the bus conductor, identified as Carles Lagan, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, all other injured were sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment.
The express bus was going towards KL from Genting Highlands
"The impact caused substantial damage to the front of the bus," Gombak Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ali Ahmad was quoted as saying by The Star Online.
ACP Ali, meanwhile, added that the cause of the accident is still being investigated.
According to one of the passengers of the bus, the accident happened so fast that "everybody was thrown off their seats"
"After boarding the bus, I was not able to sleep because it was being driven at high speed. Suddenly, I heard a loud crash, and then everybody fell off their seats," the 19-year-old passenger was quoted as saying by theSundaily.
She was on her way home from Genting Highlands with her parents, a cousin and an aunt. She suffered injuries to her face and her father sustained a serious leg injury.
A dashcam video footage, posted on a Facebook page, captured the fatal crash on Karak Expressway. It appears that driver lost control of the bus, causing it to ram into the lorry ahead:
