Police in Indonesia are investigating a bizarre discovery inside a private school after staff unlocked a sealed room containing nearly 1,000 guns, drugs, and a collection of pornographic DVDs
According to Bernama, the haul included 995 firearms and airsoft rifles, live ammunition, crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, and around 25 pornographic DVDs.
According to Hermawanto, a lawyer representing the school's foundation, the room had been locked because the former head of the management board kept the keys after being fired on 18 April for allegedly misappropriating school funds
Staff only managed to open the room with help from the South Jakarta Metro Police.
A preliminary check on 10 July revealed the massive collection of weapons and ammunition, while a follow-up search on 5 August turned up the illicit drugs and pornographic discs.
Hermawanto alleged that the contraband belonged to the disgraced former board chief, prompting the foundation to lodge a fresh police report over the discovery of the drugs.
Local authorities confirmed receiving the report and noted that an official investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
