Twitter was abuzz yesterday, 21 March, when a 'Verified' icon started showing up on profiles of MySejahtera users

Many were confused when the 'Verified' blue tick appeared under their names on the Check-In screen.

Others were highly amused and even flaunted theirs on social media because, well, an average Joe like us knows just how difficult it is to get the "prestigious" blue tick.

But now with the latest update, all Malaysians can be 'Verified'!

The Ministry of Health (MOH) issued an explanation today, 22 March, about what it means to have a verified account.

Here's why it's important:

A verified account ensures that the features available in MySejahtera can be fully accessed, including the vaccination certificate.

Those with a red badge indicate that their accounts are not verified and will be unable to see their certificates.

Since Malaysians can't enter restaurants and many other business premises without proof of vaccination, having access to the digital certificate is a must.

To get a verified MySejahtera profile, follow these steps:

1. Make sure your MySejahtera app is updated to version 1.1.8 or newer.

2. When you open the app, it should go straight to the Check-In screen. Click on the red 'Verify Now' button. It should take you to the Verification page.

3. Check if these details are accurate (because once you verify, you can't change the information):

— Name (according to your MyKad or passport, which includes Bin/Binti and A/P or A/L)

— IC/Passport number (according to your MyKad or passport, too)

— MySJ ID (email address or phone number you used to register the MySejahtera account with)

4. If you need to make any changes, click on 'Edit'.

5. Click 'Confirm' to finalise and send your details to the MySejahtera team.

Your red badge should turn into a blue tick saying 'Verified' in the Check-In page of the app, once your details are verified.

The updates come just days before Malaysia officially transitions to the endemic phase on 1 April:
