Independent shuttler Lee Zii Jia recently turned to the Kuala Lumpur High Court to resolve a management deadlock involving his father and sister at his company
The badminton star had filed an application on 2 July seeking a court order to convene an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of LZJ Management Sdn Bhd, after an earlier attempt to hold one fell through when his family members did not show up.

Zii Jia currently holds a 90% stake in LZJ Management.

His younger brother, Lee Tao, was also reportedly absent.
Their absence meant the meeting failed to meet the quorum required under the Companies Act 2016.
Zii Jia currently holds a 90% stake in LZJ Management, while Zii Yii holds 9% and Tao holds the remaining 1%.
Zii Jia is also seeking an interim injunction against his father and sister as part of the legal proceedings
The application seeks to stop Chee Hin and Zii Yii from approving or paying themselves directors' fees, bonuses, or other financial benefits beyond their regular monthly salaries.
The injunction also seeks to restrict decisions involving director appointments, asset disposals, and share issuance without the court's permission.
His lawyer, Ahmad Zayd Ahmad Zuber, said the legal application was primarily intended to ensure the company's EGM could proceed
"What we are essentially seeking is an application to hold an EGM of the company," Ahmad Zayd said, according to the New Straits Times.
"There are no allegations against any of the parties involved. We are simply seeking the court's assistance to hold the EGM in accordance with the terms requested," he added.
The application requested permission to convene the EGM, issue notices, and appoint an independent chairman to oversee the proceedings.
Zii Jia also aims to pass resolutions based on shareholdings, including the removal and appointment of directors and the appointment of a new company secretary.
The hearing for the application is scheduled to take place on 25 November.
