M'sian Woman Suffers From Broken Leg & Pelvis After Getting Robbed While Riding A Bike
The victim and her motorcycle fell into the ditch during the robbery.
A woman ended up with a fractured waist and leg after she was robbed in Kuching, Sarawak on Tuesday, 21 June
Borneo Network reported that the woman was riding her motorcycle to work in Taman Sukma at around 6.15am when she was approached by the suspect.
Kuching District Police Chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said this caused the victim to lose control and crash into the ditch.
While she was down, the suspect took the opportunity to seize her belongings, such as her wallet and cellphone.
The victim's family was also reported as saying by I Love Borneo that the perpetrator also tried to remove the victim's clothing in the incident.
The man cursed her for not being able to touch her and open her pants.
The woman suffered severe injuries such as a broken right thigh, broken waist, bleeding in the abdomen, and wound on the hand
The victim had also reportedly just finished undergoing surgery to insert an iron into her thigh. She will undergo a second surgery to fix her broken waist.
Ahsmon said that this case is now being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for committing robbery. The suspect, if convicted, would face imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years and would also have to pay a fine.
The victim's family hope the suspect will be caught soon
According to I Love Borneo, the suspect is said to have a small stature and wore a blue helmet when he attacked the victim.
The family is pleading with members of the public to go to the nearest police station if they have any information in regards to the incident.
