A woman was shocked to discover that two tyres had been stolen from her car while it was parked at the Bandar Bukit Tinggi LRT3 station in Klang last Tuesday, 18 August
"Just came back from work to find my car tyres stolen like this? I paid for the parking this morning. Doesn't anyone patrol this place? If anyone else parks here, please take care okay," the woman, @nanijismani, wrote on Threads.
She shared a photo of her car propped up on concrete blocks, with two wheels on its right side missing.
She later clarified that only two wheels were successfully stolen, while there was also an attempt to remove the front-left wheel. However, the attempt was unsuccessful after the wheel studs broke.
She added that her car was fitted with standard factory rims and had a dashcam installed, although it did not record continuously.
In the comments section, many users expressed their sympathy and advised her to seek compensation
"I feel sorry for you. I hope things get easier for you," one netizen commented.
"Make a complaint, ask for compensation from the management. There is already a precedent court case where the parking operator had to pay compensation for a car that was broken into," another said.
"These LRT parking lots are usually not run by Rapid KL. There will usually be an external management. You'll have to find out the name and make a report," another user pointed out.
In an update last Thursday, 20 August, Nani said the suspect believed to be involved in the theft had been arrested by police
She added that the stolen tyres had been recovered, but the rims had already been sold by the suspect.
"Thank you to PDRM Klang for their swift action in conducting the investigation until they successfully arrested the suspect," she wrote.
She also thanked the Rapid KL staff at Bandar Bukit Tinggi station and the auxiliary police who assisted her on the day of the incident.
Nani said she is currently dealing directly with the car park management regarding compensation for the incident.
