A woman in the US was caught attempting to smuggle two turtles through airport security by hiding them in her bra
According to a Facebook post by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the incident occurred at Miami International Airport.
The woman was stopped when airport security detected an anomaly in her chest area.
Upon inspection, the turtles were found wrapped in medical tape and plastic. Sadly, one of the turtles died.
The surviving reptile was then handed over to the Florida Department of Fish and Wildlife.
In their social media post, the TSA issued a "desperate plea" for travellers to "stop hiding animals in weird places on your body".
The agency reminded the public that small pets are allowed through security checkpoints, but they must be carried and not concealed under clothing
"OK friends, please – and we cannot emphasize this enough – stop hiding animals in weird places on your body and then trying to sneak them through airport security," TSA said on Facebook
