[VIDEO] Woman Is Swallowed By 8M Sinkhole That Opened Up In Kuala Lumpur
As of 3pm, the search and rescue operation is still underway.
A woman has fallen into an 8m sinkhole that suddenly appeared on the sidewalk along Jalan Masjid India in the city centre
According to the New Straits Times, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department was alerted to the incident at 8.22am today, 23 August.
The woman, a 48-year-old Indian national, was seen falling into the sinkhole and becoming trapped underground.
A search and rescue operation is currently underway
As of a 3pm update by Bernama on Instagram, fire and rescue personnel are being lowered into a sewer hole to rescue the woman through the water drainage system.
Earlier, at about 12.20pm, the team successfully used a crane to remove a stone bench that had also fallen into the sinkhole.
