A woman overcame her fear of dogs to rescue a lost dog near a roundabout in Batu Berendam, Melaka, worried that it would be hit by a passing vehicle
In a Threads post that has since gone viral, user @wander_adibah said she spotted the dog circling the roundabout near Malacca International Airport on Saturday, 15 August, and could not bring herself to leave the helpless animal there.
"Help. I've already got it in my car even though I'm scared of dogs. Whoever has lost a dog, please contact me. I can't bring it home. Urgent," she wrote.
"Although the dog was afraid of me, I managed to pull it and persuade it to get into the car," she added in an update.
The woman said she then took the dog to a nearby supermarket, where she gave it food and water before bringing it to an animal clinic for a medical examination and further assistance.

In a happy update, the woman said the dog, named Bruno, was safely reunited with its owner
The owner had reportedly been searching for Bruno after he went missing on 9 August, six days before they found him.
She later received a message confirming that Bruno, who was being boarded at the clinic, had been reunited with his family.
"Bruno is now back home," the message read.
"Poor Bruno must be very hungry. Happy that he is back home," she replied.

The post has since received more than 3,200 likes and 230 comments, with many netizens praising her for rescuing Bruno despite being afraid of dogs
Many applauded her decision to bring the dog into her car and get it to safety before it could be hit by passing vehicles.

"You're so kind for bringing it into your car even though you're scared of dogs. May you always be blessed with good fortune," said another.
Meanwhile, a family member of Bruno also thanked the woman for helping bring him home.
