Husband Finds Wife And Her Employer Dead At Terengganu Fish Pond

They were suspected to have died from electrocution.

A seemingly ordinary afternoon pickup quickly turned into a tragedy for a husband in Jertih, Terengganu

He arrived at a local fish-rearing pond to pick up his wife, only to find her and her employer unconscious, with both later suspected to have died from electrocution.

Wan Muhammad Naim Wan Hussin, 28, reached the Pantai Air Tawar site at 1pm on Sunday, 13 September, expecting to fetch his wife.

Instead, he discovered his wife, 27-year-old Rubayyi Razali, and 49-year-old pond owner Wan Adilah Wan Awang lying unconscious.

Rubayyi, a second-year biodiversity student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), had been stationed at the pond for her practical training since 10 August. Her training was scheduled to end on 2 October.

According to the New Straits Times, the victims were pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer.

Following a distress call at 1.40pm, Besut district police chief Supt Mohd Rozaime Ab Rahim said that the case had been classified as sudden death.

The authorities sent both bodies to the forensics unit at Besut Hospital for a post-mortem

The tragedy has left the family devastated, as Rubayyi is survived by her two young sons, aged 2 years and 4 months, respectively.
