A Year Four student was found dead at a school in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan, around 1pm on Wednesday, 1 October
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said his department received a report about the incident at 1.19pm before officers were dispatched to the location.
"Based on preliminary information, the child left the classroom at 12.10pm. The student was later found unconscious within the school compound.
"The victim was taken to hospital for further action but was confirmed dead," he said.
Commenting on the cause and chronology of the incident, Alzafny said police would issue an official statement soon.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said her ministry is giving police space to investigate while ensuring the emotional wellbeing of students and teachers at the school
"While waiting for the full investigation, we will give our full attention to psychosocial processes and emotional support for students and teachers at the school.
"Starting tomorrow, this intervention will be implemented comprehensively by our counsellors in Negeri Sembilan," she said.
She also urged parents not to be fearful about sending their children to school, stressing that classes will continue as usual.
At the same time, she urged the public not to speculate on the incident and to respect the family's privacy.
"The Education Ministry expresses its condolences and deepest sadness over this incident. We are extending full emotional and psychosocial support to the family at this time," she added.
