If you regularly drive in Mont Kiara, there's now another route you can take when getting around the neighbourhood
A new road connecting Jalan Duta Kiara and Jalan Kiara 3 has officially opened, giving motorists and pedestrians an additional way to move through the area.
The road was officially opened on 22 September by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh with Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud also in attendance.
The opening was hosted by Bon Estates, which undertook the road project as a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. First announced in 2023, the road connection was developed with the aim of improving connectivity in the surrounding neighbourhood.
The new connection consists of a two-lane, two-way road, with one lane in each direction. It also features a pedestrian walkway.
It provides a more direct connection from Jalan Kiara 3 towards Solaris Dutamas, with onward access to Segambut and surrounding areas.
For people travelling through the area, the additional route means there is now another option to consider, particularly when traffic along existing roads starts to build up.
Bon Estates said the road is also expected to help improve traffic movement along Jalan Kiara 3 during busier periods. While it may seem like a relatively simple piece of infrastructure, the developer sees the project as part of a bigger idea about what it means to build within an established neighbourhood.
The road is part of an initiative called 'The Good Radius' by Bon Estates
The Good Radius is centred around the idea that a development can contribute beyond its own boundaries, and reflects the developer's 'Living Well Crafted' philosophy. After all, getting home isn't just about what happens once you reach your front door. The roads, connections and neighbourhoods around it are part of the daily experience too.
"A road may be simple infrastructure, but its value is in how it improves everyday journeys. We hope this connection will make moving through the area more convenient for the wider community," said Goh Soo Sing, founder and chairman of Bon Estates.
The road opening also comes at a significant time for Bon Estates, with vacant possession for Bon Kiara scheduled for October 2026
Located in Mont Kiara, Bon Kiara comprises 410 large-format residences and is now fully sold. The project is also progressing ahead of schedule, according to Bon Estates.
For the developer, the completion of Bon Kiara and opening of the new road represent two different milestones.
"The completion of Bon Kiara and the opening of this road are two different milestones. One is about delivering homes to homeowners; the other is about contributing to the neighbourhood around them," said Chan Jin-Wy, CEO of Bon Estates.
