Here's How You Can Watch The KL 2017 SEA Games Online For Free

Can't make it to the Games in person? No problem!

The Kuala Lumpur 2017 SEA Games will officially begin this Saturday, 19 July

The 29th SEA Games, previously known as SEAP (South East Asian Peninsular) Games, is branded as "Kuala Lumpur 2017" (KL 2017) and will be the sixth time Malaysia has played host to the prestigious sporting event after last hosting it in 2001.

More than 4,000 athletes from 11 countries will be competing against each other in 39 sports categories and 404 events.

While sporting events are best experienced live in person, not all of us have the luxury of attending some of them

A number of preliminary events take place on weekdays when most of us are at work. For example, football preliminary rounds kicked off on Monday, 14 August.

Thankfully, there are numerous ways you can catch our athletes in action online:

1. Kuala Lumpur 2017 YouTube official channel

Watch live streams of different events and catch up with the replays via the official channel.

2. tonton

Like TM, tonton has provided two channels dedicated to showing the Games. Do note that you have to log in to the service in order to watch these channels – registration for Tonton is free.

3. Astro GO and NJOI now

The company has provided a total of four exclusive channels on its Astro GO and NJOI apps for everyone (yes, including non-Astro subscribers), which means you can skip registration and start watching straight away.

TM is offering free viewing on two channels on its HyppTV Everywhere app. It is applicable to all users including non-TM subscribers as well.
