All Travellers To Thailand Must Fill In Digital Arrival Cards From 1 May
The digital TM6 form will require personal and travel information, including passport details and a Thai address.
Thailand has announced plans to implement the use of digital arrival cards for all foreign visitors effective 1 May
According to The Bangkok Post, those arriving in Thailand via air, land, and sea must fill in the online TM6 immigration form.
There will be no charge for submitting the digital form, which will replace the currently suspended paper card.
The digital TM6 form will require personal and travel information, including passport details and a Thai address.
The paper TM6 immigration forms were temporarily suspended by the Thai government to boost tourism and ease congestion at checkpoints
However, with security concerns over recent kidnapping cases in the country, Thailand aims to use the new digital form to track tourists during their stay and boost confidence in safety standards.
Sources revealed that the Thai government is also considering temporarily suspending its 300 baht (approximately RM39) tourism fee.
The government said it is prioritising the digital TM6 form before adopting other types of arrival screening to prevent confusion among tourists.
The country has set its sights on welcoming 40 million foreign visitors in 2025, an increase from 35.5 million in 2024.
