Bangkok Introduces Weekend Pet-Friendly Train Coaches From January 2025

Bangkok's Red Line train service will welcome pet owners to bring their furkids out on weekends starting 4 January 2025

According to the Bangkok Post, the State Railway of Thailand announced its new pet-friendly service as a New Year's gift to pet owners living in the city.

The authority said the initiative is being launched in collaboration with Thailand's National Institute of Development Administration to make public transportation more pet-friendly.

Here are the rules that passengers have to follow to travel with pets:
 Only dogs and cats are permitted.
– Each passenger may only bring one pet on board. The pet must be kept in a proper cage or container not exceeding 55cm (width), 37cm (length), and 30cm (height).
– Owners must present a pet identification or vaccination certificate before boarding.
– Passengers with pets can only travel in the designated pet-friendly carriage.

The service will be available only on Saturdays and Sundays.
