PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) officially launched the third-generation Audi Q5 in Malaysia yesterday, 5 May
The premium SUV lineup arrives in two distinct forms, consisting of the versatile Audi Q5 Advanced and the dynamic Audi Q5 Sportback S line.
The Audi Q5 Advanced is priced from RM352,990, while the Audi Q5 Sportback S line retails from RM421,990.
Built exclusively for combustion engines on the brand's Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture, the new Q5 is designed to integrate advanced technology with high-performance powertrains
Both variants are powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI engine paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, for smoother driving in the city or on the highway.
The Q5 Advanced generates 199PS, while the Q5 Sportback S line boosts output to 272PS, ensuring good acceleration for overtaking and emergency manoeuvres.
To ensure precision and control, the legendary quattro permanent all-wheel drive system is standard, while Audi Drive Select allows drivers to adjust steering, suspension, and throttle response to suit their driving preferences.
The exterior design follows a new design language, unlike previous Audi designs
The Q5 Advanced showcases a silhouette defined by sculpted contours and 19-inch 10-Arm Aero wheels.
In contrast, the Q5 Sportback S line features a dramatic coupe profile, characterised by a sweeping roofline, an S line grille, and aggressive 20-inch Audi Sport wheels with red brake callipers.
Both models utilise state-of-the-art Matrix LED headlights with Digital Light Signatures and LED Rear Lights Pro, with the Sportback variant adding a Next Generation Projection Brake Light for enhanced safety.
Inside, the cabin is human-centric and digitally immersive
It features a curved 14.5-inch OLED MMI panoramic display and an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus.
A notable innovation is the inclusion of the Audi Assistant, powered by ChatGPT, which allows for natural voice control of navigation, media, and comfort settings.
For connectivity and convenience, the vehicles offer wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless fast charging, and multiple high-capacity USB-C charging ports.
The Sportback S line provides additional luxury touches, including ventilated seats for Malaysia's climate, carbon micro twill inlays, and a head-up display.
Despite their dynamic styling, both vehicles prioritise everyday practicality
The Q5 Advanced offers 520 litres of luggage space, expandable to 1,473 litres, while the Q5 Sportback S line provides 515 litres, expandable to 1,415 litres.
Both models feature a hands-free trunk opening system and are equipped with a suite of driver assistance systems, including Audi Pre Sense, Adaptive Cruise Control, and 360° surround-view cameras.
