Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced the latest flagship addition to its shock-resistant G-SHOCK lineup with the release of a new MR-G timepiece
The new MRG-D5000 introduces a screwless multi-component structure featuring a bezel constructed entirely from blue sapphire crystal, available in an ultra-exclusive run of just 20 pieces worldwide.
Since its debut in 1996, the MR-G collection has operated under its core "Breaking Ground" design philosophy, combining high-precision manufacturing techniques with expert craftsmanship to re-imagine durable watchmaking.

The MRG-D5000 marks the first instance where G-SHOCK has achieved full shock resistance using blue sapphire crystal components
To overcome the structural fragility of sapphire glass, Casio engineers developed a proprietary MR-G Multi-Guard Structure.
By thoroughly analysing stress distribution patterns during accidental impacts, Casio constructed a multi-piece case and bezel assembly that holds together securely without screws, preventing structural cracks across the sapphire material.
The timepiece also features a blue sapphire crystal plate set into its screw-lock case back, engraved with an individual serial number out of the 20 limited units produced. Under the hood, the internal module uses Gallium Tough Solar technology, offering efficient solar charging and high thermal tolerance in intense light.

Alongside the ultra-limited flagship model, Casio expanded its blue sapphire range with two additional releases
One is the MRG-B5000SA, a premium MR-G variant featuring a two-carat, facet-cut blue sapphire crystal on both the upper and lower case boundaries. It sports a super-hard alloy bezel alongside blue Arc Ion Plating (AIP) across the case and bezel structure.
On the other wrist is the GMW-B5000SB, a full-metal G-SHOCK design accented with four individual blue sapphire crystal stones set directly onto the front corners of the bezel.
