Meta has quietly launched a new app called Forum on 22 May, aiming to streamline how people interact with Facebook groups
The app, only available for the iPhone at the moment, consolidates all joined communities into a single, dedicated feed.
The app operates by pulling posts from your groups, filtering out algorithmic recommendations, sponsored clutter, and standard friend updates.
When users posted inside Forum, the content synchronises back to Facebook automatically.
Meta also included an artificial intelligence feature in Forum called Ask, which sits on the bottom menu bar
This tool allowed users to search for specific topics across all their groups simultaneously, eliminating individual scrolling.
Interestingly, the company chose not to announce the launch on its official newsroom website. Social media consultant Matt Navarra first spotted the app, noting on Threads that the interface closely resembled Reddit.
A spokesperson told CNET, "We test lots of new products publicly to see what people find interesting and useful to their experiences across our apps".
Connecting a Facebook account allows existing profiles, groups, and activities to carry over instantly
Users are able to manage existing communities, discover new ones, or create groups from scratch.
The initial experience effectively removes extraneous noise by clustering specific group updates together .
iPhone users can currently download the application from the App Store to try it themselves.
