Ferrari has unveiled its first fully electric vehicle (EV), the Ferrari Luce, and it is already splitting opinions down the middle
Produced at the iconic Maranello facility in Italy in collaboration with the LoveFrom agency founded by former Apple design chief Sir Jony Ive, the new EV marks a radical shift for the legendary brand.
The Luce is a four-door vehicle that fits five passengers, marking the first time in history the Prancing Horse has built a five-seater car.
It also comes in five colours: Azzurro la Plata, Giallo Luce, Rosso Dino, Bianco Artico, and Rosso Fiammante.
Stepping away from traditional Pininfarina aesthetics, the exterior resembles a family car rather than an aggressive track monster. However, Ferrari stated that this unconventional body achieves the lowest aerodynamic drag coefficient in the company's history.
The vehicle features four petal-like doors that open in a similar style to the Mazda RX-8.
Equipped with four electric motors, the vehicle pumps out a massive 1,035 horsepower
The rear and front motors generate 831 horsepower and 282 horsepower, respectively.
The car tops out at 310km/h, runs on a 122kWh battery pack, and supports 350kW fast charging. Drivers can get up to 531km of range under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) standard.
To keep traditionalists happy, the car features five driving modes that simulate the gear shifts and acceleration sounds of combustion-engine vehicles
It also comes standard with high-performance Brembo brakes to handle all that regenerative stopping power.
The Ferrari Luce will officially launch in Europe during the second quarter of 2027.
It will carry a starting price of 550,000 euros (RM2.6 million) before rolling out to global markets.
