Malaysians are set to receive 10GB of free Internet data under the Rahmah Rebate Incentive in conjunction with Hari Kebangsaan and Malaysia Day 2026.
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil announced that the allocation will be split into two: 5GB on 31 August 2026, followed by another 5GB on 16 September 2026.
He made the announcement yesterday, 11 August, at the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) Sponsorship Contribution Handover Ceremony.
Both prepaid and postpaid users across major telco networks, including CelcomDigi, Maxis, TM, U Mobile, and YES, will be eligible for the free Internet data
Fahmi added that redemption methods and validity periods will be determined and announced directly by the respective service providers.
The data perk comes as this year's National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations secured RM48.63 million in corporate sponsorships, up by over 118% from last year
"I give my assurance that every sen and every form of contribution received will be managed and utilised transparently, prudently and responsibly to support the organisation of the main and side activities of HKHM 2026," Fahmi added.
