Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone Duo, marking the tech giant's long-awaited debut in the foldable smartphone market

The passport-sized device features a 5.4-inch outer screen that opens to reveal a 7.6-inch inner display.
Under the hood, the new A20 Pro chip handles heavy multitasking, gaming, and advanced on-device AI workloads.
While Apple kept the exact size and weight under wraps, the device is explicitly engineered for pocketability.
When fully unfolded, it claims the title of the thinnest iPhone ever created. When closed shut, the chassis transforms into a compact rectangle roughly the size of a standard passport, designed specifically to remain comfortable for one-handed use.
Apple's iPhone Duo features a dual-screen Super Retina XDR

It comes with a pocketable 5.4-inch outer display with an expansive 7.6-inch inner canvas.
The main folding screen features a premium nano-texture finish that drastically reduces glare while minimising the visibility of the centre crease.
Both panels maintain visual continuity by sharing identical aspect ratios, ProMotion technology, Always-On capabilities, and a stunning 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness.
The iPhone Duo comes with an IP68 rating, meaning it's dust resistant and waterproof

It also features a next-generation Ceramic Shield 2 on the outer display, offering three times the scratch resistance of previous generations.
Additional flagship hardware includes Touch ID seamlessly integrated into the side button, a dedicated Camera Control launcher, and a space-saving eSIM-only design.
The iPhone Duo features a versatile suite of lenses headlined by a 48MP Fusion Main camera with an optical-quality 2x Telephoto and zero shutter lag

It is paired with a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide lens capable of capturing expansive fields of view.
Apple also integrated a hidden under-display FaceTime camera on the inner screen for uninterrupted viewing, alongside intelligent new features like Duo Preview — which lets subjects frame themselves using the outer screen — and AI-powered Smart Take for automatic captures.
While Apple didn't reveal specifics for iPhone Duo's battery, the company said the foldable device is "designed with one high-energy battery on each side to maximise capacity while efficiently using internal space"

Apple claims that the battery delivers up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display, 44 hours on the outer display, and 24 hours of mixed usage.
The device is also backed by fast-charging capabilities that can restore 50% of the battery in just 20 minutes.
The bendable form factor unlocks creative ways to use the 48MP Fusion main camera

Users can now take high-resolution selfies while checking their framing on the outer screen via Duo Preview.
"iPhone Duo is the most transformational change to iPhone since the original. With an entirely new design and intuitive experiences, it shows what's possible when hardware and software are engineered together and redefines what it means to use a foldable phone," said Apple chief executive officer John Ternus.
Crafted from polished Grade 5 titanium, the phone is available in two distinct finishes: Star White and Night Sky

Malaysians can pre-order the device starting at 8pm on 16 October, with official availability kicking off on 23 October.
The device starts at RM9,499 and will feature four storage options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
