It turns out the most iconic stealth gadget in gaming history is not a high-tech optical camouflage suit, but a humble cardboard box

Metal Gear fans have long relied on this corrugated lifesaver to sneak past heavily armed guards, and now, your feline friends can get in on the covert action too.

US-based game merchandiser OKS Gear recently announced an officially licensed Metal Gear scratchpad cat box.

The purrrfect synthesis of stealth and attack power – every solider (cat) should have one.

If you know your Metal Gear lore, you will recognise this specific design as the Love Box from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Originally big enough for two players to huddle in on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) back in 2010, the pet version is strictly a single-feline affair.

The game itself received a fresh coat of paint last month in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 for current-gen consoles and PC.

So while you dive back into the classic missions, your cat can execute their own tactical espionage operations from the living room floor.

For now, this stealthy cat box is planned as an event-exclusive drop at CatCon in Pasadena, California, on 10 and 11 October
