Honda Malaysia has revived one of its most celebrated models with the launch of the sixth-generation Prelude at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026

Developed around the 'Unlimited Glide' concept, this modern grand tourer is designed to combine visual elegance, premium driving enjoyment, and daily utility into a highly cohesive sports coupe package.

The model marks a significant milestone in the company's ongoing hybrid evolution, offering a high-performance alternative that preserves the emotional driver connection historically associated with Honda vehicles.

The car is aimed at those who find driving an enjoyable experience

At the heart of the vehicle is a 2.0L e:HEV powertrain, which generates a robust 184PS and 315Nm of torque to deliver responsive acceleration alongside high efficiency.

This system is paired with the Malaysian debut of Honda's S+ Shift Technology, an innovative motor-driven hybrid system that meticulously manages engine RPM during acceleration and deceleration.

By synchronising power delivery with Active Sound Control (ASC) and a dynamic visual power meter display, the technology provides a direct drive response and a crisp, shifting sensation. In other words, it gives the driver a spirited driving experience.

The engine isn't the only highlight from the Prelude, as it borrows key components from Honda's high-performance Type R line

To complement these powertrain capabilities, the chassis borrows structural technologies from the high-performance Type R line, utilising a dual-axis strut front suspension, an Adaptive Damper System, and Agile Handling Assist (AHA) to maximise stability during sharp cornering manoeuvres.

The vehicle introduces three tailored driving modes — Sport, GT, and Comfort — each specifically enhanced by the integrated S+ Shift Technology.

Sport Mode focuses on maximising vehicle response and handling stability to elevate driver engagement. GT Mode balances high-speed premium comfort and effortless power for long-distance cruising. Comfort Mode relaxes the vehicle's baseline dynamics by delivering smoother power output and a lighter steering touch.

For drivers seeking exact customisation, an Individual Mode allows for independent tweaking of the powertrain, suspension stiffness, steering weight, exhaust sound, and digital meter displays.

The model also marks the brand's first implementation of Coasting Control Operation. This feature allows the vehicle to decelerate smoothly and naturally upon lifting off the throttle, which actively reduces physical fatigue by minimizing the frequency at which a driver must alternate between the accelerator and brake pedals.

The exterior styling draws heavy inspiration from the smooth motion of a glider, utilising a sleek fastback silhouette and flowing body contours to convey a sense of movement

Honda designers eliminated traditional disruptions along the upper body by embedding a glass-print radio antenna directly into the rear window.

Meticulous exterior details include a Black Chrome Grille, LED headlights, flush outer door handles, and LED rear combination lamps with a red lens. This look is accented by subtle blue highlights on the lower front and rear bumpers, alongside 19-inch aluminum wheels housing prominent blue Brembo brake calipers.

Tech-savvy buyers will find a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio system featuring Google functionality, and audio is directed through a premium Bose sound system.

Despite its sports coupe geometry, the vehicle maintains everyday practicality through Honda's space packaging expertise, offering an ample rear cargo area that comfortably holds two medium-sized suitcases. Comprehensive safety protection is also included via the full Honda SENSING suite of advanced driver-assist technologies.
