The Employee Provident Fund (EPF) has launched the EPF i-Akaun app to allow users to manage their accounts via their smartphones
Employees Provident Fund (EPF) account holders can now use their smartphones to access their savings via the “EPF i-Akaun” mobile application.

The android i-Akaun application is actually same as mobile web version of i-Akaun (mobile web version is embedded in android app). The login process is authenticated at myEPF server. So, it is save to use.
Here are 5 things you can do with the EPF i-Akaun app: 1. Instant access and easy monitoring of your EPF savings
“It gives members with i-Akaun instant access to their EPF savings. This allows them to keep track of their savings against the basic savings quantum which serves as a guideline for members to better manage their monies," EPF deputy chief executive officer for operations Datuk Ibrahim Taib.

2. Check your EPF statements to ensure your employers are submitting your contributions accurately
“In addition, the mobile application makes it faster and simpler for members to check their EPF statement and to ensure that employers submit their contributions timely and accurately,” said Ibrahim in a statement.

The application comes equipped with an online calculator, which allow members to calculate their estimated annual EPF contributions, how much they are allowed to take out for housing and estimated amount that can be invested through the EPF Members Investment Scheme (EPF-MIS).

4. Stay updated with the latest EPF news
The application also updates members on the latest news on EPF as well as a direction map to its offices.

EPF Deputy CEO for Operations says more features will be incorporated into the EPF i-Akaun app to offer even greater convenience to users
"At this initial stage, the application carries the basic features and in the near future, we will incorporate other EPF services to offer even greater convenience to our members," said EPF deputy chief executive officer for operations Datuk Ibrahim Taib in a statement.

To use the EPF i-Akaun app, account holders must register as an i-Akaun user
EPF members can visit any EPF branch, kiosk or call the EPF Call Centre at 03-8922 6000 to register for "i-Akaun" and obtain an activation code.
The EPF i-Akaun app is now available for free download from the Google Play Store
The retirement savings fund said the in-house developed mobile application was now available for smartphones and tablets with Android version 2.2 and above. It can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store.
