For many urban Malaysians, their car is way more than just a tool to get from A to B
Whether it's a space to decompress after work, have a long chat with a loved one, or have a carpool karaoke session, many Malaysians will have multiple uses for their cars beyond the daily commute.

1. You get up to 402KM of WLTP range, with fast charging when you need it
The J5 EV uses a 58.9kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery with a claimed WLTP range of up to 402km. Its front-mounted motor produces 211PS and 288Nm of torque.
It supports DC fast charging at up to 130kW, taking the battery from 30% to 80% in around 28 minutes. It also supports 11 kW AC charging, an impressive capability for a B-segment electric SUV that also makes home charging faster and more convenient.
2. Its V2L and Camping Mode could come in handy once you leave the city
The J5 EV has 3.3kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, which lets its battery supply electricity to external appliances.
Pair that with Camping Mode, and the car effectively becomes a portable power source for outdoor trips.
3. Pet Mode is there for people whose furkids are regular passengers
Pet Mode caters to owners who frequently bring their cats or dogs along, while the J5 EV's TÜV-certified leatherette upholstery is designed to be antibacterial and scratch-resistant.
That should make the inevitable combination of paws, fur and muddy adventures slightly easier to live with.
4. Inside, you'll find a panoramic roof, ventilated seats, and even karaoke features
The cabin gets an 8.88-inch digital instrument display and a 13.2-inch portrait infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other conveniences include powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a 50W wireless charger and a large panoramic moonroof.
Then there's the in-car karaoke function, with microphones sold separately.
5. There's even a 35-litre frunk for the stuff you don't want cluttering the boot
Because there's no combustion engine taking up the usual space under the bonnet, the J5 EV gets a 35-litre front trunk, or frunk.
It's a simple addition, but extra storage is always welcome when the main boot with its 480 litres of capacity is already doing family, grocery, or balik kampung duty.
6. Level 2+ driver assistance handles some of the less relaxing parts of driving
The J5 EV comes with 19 Level 2+ ADAS, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, autonomous emergency braking, lane centring assist and blind spot monitoring with collision prevention.
A 540-degree camera, rear cross-traffic alert with auto braking and door-opening warning are also among its safety features.
