JPJ Is Working On A New App That Can Renew Licence And Road Tax
In an effort to convenience users with digitalisation.
Any Malaysian who owns a vehicle knows the hassle of having to queue for road tax and licences at Road Transport Department (JPJ) branches across the country
This is why efforts to digitalise the process are highly appreciated, and this recent Facebook post from Transport Minister — Anthony Loke — hinted at this change.
In the Facebook post, Loke announced that JPJ has launched the Kempen Keselamatan Jalan Raya initiative organised by Suzuki and Persatuan Penjual Motosikal Malaysia in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
Essentially, the initiative introduced kiosks across the country to facilitate road tax and license renewals in JPJ across the country
This will help reduce congestion over the counters, and extend renewal services beyond office hours, said Loke.
Loke went on to announce that JPJ's digitalisation process will not stop at the kiosk level only but will be further expanded online
Currently, JPJ is working on an app that allow users to renew their license and road tax from the convenience of their smartphones.
Hopefully, we'll be able to say goodbye to long and congested renewal queues after this.
